About the Event
Visitors can explore the galleries of the museum which display an impressive collection of archaeological artifacts from prehistoric times to the medieval period, including antiquities from copper hoard culture and late Harappan culture. The museum showcases rare Bharhut art, terracotta collections, miniature paintings, modern paintings, and artworks of the Bengal School, along with paintings by Nicholas Roerich and Asit Kumar Haldar. Important objects are displayed across multiple galleries such as the Central Hall, Archaeological Gallery, Terracotta Gallery, Sculpture Galleries, Miniature Painting Gallery, Literary Gallery, Natural History Galleries, Nehru Gallery, Decorative Art Gallery, Arms and Armour/Bronze Gallery, Woodwork and Textile Gallery, Modern Painting Gallery, and the Freedom Struggle Gallery, along with a permanent hall for temporary exhibitions. Visitors can also avail paid guide tours, heritage guide tours, and use the cafeteria facility available at the museum.
